Dan
Daniel "The songbird of our generation" Hilary-Jones isn't just a pretty face. You'd never know it from looking at him, but he knows his way around a chainsaw just as well as he knows his sourdough starters.
With 'sentiment over sentimentality' at the core of his writing ethos:
Dan writes with an ambiguity that allows the listener to impart the own meanings and stories into the songs; while still pulling on their heartstrings.
Living in Cardiff for most of his life, Dan shared a guitar teacher with Nick Drake, and produces the bands music along with other favourite artists from the South Wales music scene.
Gem
The smiliest and bounciest drummer you’ve ever seen!
As a trained tap dancer- she found her passion for percussion quite easily, when she heard Dan’s angelic songs in desperate need of a beat.
Gem hails all the way from sunny California but prefers the dismal weather of the Welsh countryside. When not on stage you can find her smelling flowers, tending to her pet shrimp, or (most likly) yapping on the phone to her besties.
She studied acting at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, holds a doctorate in Cultural and Performance theories from Cardiff Unversity, and aspires to one day be a crazy cat lady.
Jenny
Jenny brings an incredible amount of joy and fun to the DP experience.
Originally from Nottingham, studied opera at The Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in Cardiff where, she became one of Dan’s People!
Growing up listening to prog rock, classical and folk she has an eclectic music taste. At a show you’ll hear her play flute, Mellotron, a Korg, tambourine, harmonise, and sing her little heart out!
She’s never happier than when she’s shaking her tambourine (ass) and wailing with the band.
Max
Hailing from Swansea, mad Max joined the band in 2025, after Dan had a dream about him …. At the time, we didn’t even know if he played bass.
Upon hearing Dan’s dream- Max replied, ‘Perhaps it was not a dream, but a prophecy ‘ and boy oh boy, was it.
He’s quickly become our secret weapon and we can’t imagine the band witout him.
When he’s not melting your face off with bass solos in Dan’s People, he creates (mind blowing) 3D art sculptures / environmental modeling.
He also shreds the electric guitar in Cardiff band, The Fledgling Bozos
